Twenty seats. Five courses. No menu to read.
Long Table is one table. Twenty seats down a single plank of elm, five courses, and no menu, because the kitchen cooks what arrived that morning and finds out what it is doing at about four in the afternoon.
You will be sitting next to someone you have not met. That is the other half of it, and after two hours nobody minds.
To start
Bread from the morning, cultured butter, and whatever is far enough along in the pickling jars.
The middle
Three plates, mostly vegetables, one of them emphatically not. This is where the kitchen shows off.
The end
Something with quince. There is almost always something with quince, and nobody has complained yet.
