The score uses our own weights, explained below. It shows how much there is to reread. It cannot say where a filter would put the message.
The list and the score
The checker looks for these 21 phrases as whole words, in any capitalization: free, guaranteed, no cost, risk-free, act now, click here, 100%, winner, congrats, amazing, deal, limited time, urgent, buy now, lowest price, cheap, earn $, $$$, make money, work from home, weight loss. The list is ours, kept short, and not taken from any mailbox provider’s filter.
The score is 10 points for each different phrase, 8 for each all-capitals word of four letters or more, 6 for each run of two or more exclamation marks and 7 for each run of dollar signs or a dollar amount of three digits or more. From 5 points it says “a few flags”, from 20 “several” and from 40 “many”. The weights are our own: they measure how much there is to reread, not where a filter would put the message.
